Obituary of Mary M. Smith

Mary M. Smith, a Shop Keeper for the Coffee Grinder in Pine Bush
and longtime resident of the area passed away on Saturday February
25, 2012 at her home. She was 77. The daughter of the
late John Horwath and Catherine Auerbach Horwath, she was born on
May 2, 1934 in NYC. Mary was a member of the Pine Bush Ladies
Auxiliary, the Book Club in Pine Bush (Happy Bookers), former
Crawford Town Historian, and member of the Church of the Infant
Saviour. Survivors include her husband, Richard A. Smith at
home, sons; Richard J. Smith and his wife Elizabeth of Pine Bush
and Michael S. Smith and his wife Judith of New Paltz, 2
grandchildren; Meryl Smith and Jack Smith. She was
predeceased by her son, John C. Smith and her sister Elizabeth
Crudele. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 28, 2012
from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525
Burlingham Rd Pine Bush. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on
Wednesday February 29, 2012 at 10am at the Church of the Infant
Saviour with Fr. Kevin Gallagher officiating. Cremation will
take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Newburgh. Memorial
donations can be made to the John Christopher Smith Memorial
Scholarship Fund c/o Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan,
30 Scotts Corner Drive, Suite 202, Montgomery NY 12549.
