Edward J. Staff Sr. Edward J. Staff Sr., a retired plumber/steam fitter for Local 373, Spring Valley and longtime area resident, died Thursday, September 13, 2007 in Walker Valley. He was 94. The son of Joseph Stapf and Ottilia Geis Stapf, he was born October 28, 1912 in Plainsfield, N.J. He was a veteran; life-member of the Walker Valley Fire Dept.; member of the Walker Valley Sportsman Assoc.; member of the Masonic Lodge #0582 of Wawarsing; member of Local 373; and member of AARP. He was the widower of Annette Rio Staff. Survivors include son, Edward J. Staff Jr. and wife Ann of Walker Valley; grandchildren, Judith Staff of Walker Valley, Carol and Jim Tremper of Pine Bush, Edward J. Staff III and wife Barbara of Pine Bush; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Victoria Dinto and husband Paul of Danbury, Conn. and Ann Cappellano of Danbury, Conn.; one brother, Peter Stapf of Pine Plains; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Annette Staff; brothers, Frank Stapf and William Stapf. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday, September 17 at William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush. A graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 18 at Walker Valley Cemetery, Walker Valley with Father Kevin Gallagher officiating. Burial will be in Walker Valley Cemetery, Walker Valley. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
