Francis S. "Frank" Stueber Sr.
Francis S. "Frank" Stueber Sr., a retired laborer with Local 17, Newburgh, former laborer with the Maybrook Railroad and lifetime area resident, died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at home with his family by his side. He was 97.
The son of Frank Stueber and Mary Trainor Stueber, he was born January 16, 1908 in New York City.
Frank was a longtime parishioner of the Church of the Infant Saviour in Pine Bush, former usher of the church and former member of the Holy Name Society of the church; charter member of the Pine Bush Knights of Columbus Council #5329; an exempt member of the Pine Bush Fire Dept.; and past president of the Town of Crawford Democratic Club.
A family statement reads, "Frank was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. We will miss him greatly."
Survivors include his beloved wife, Sophie Pirog Stueber at home; his loving daughter, Patricia Davis of Pine Bush; loving sons, Francis S. Stueber Jr. of Pine Bush, Thomas Stueber and his wife Carol of Pine Bush; 12 beloved grandchildren; 21 beloved great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Arthur Biemer of Pine Bush.
He was predeceased by granddaughter, Lori Scott; sister, Madeline Biemer; and grandson, James Stueber.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, January 25 at William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 26 at the Church of the Infant Saviour, Pine Bush. Father William Damroth will officiate.
Burial will be in the family plot in New Prospect Cemetery in Pine Bush.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Infant Saviour Building Fund, 22 Holland Ave., Pine Bush, NY 12566.
