Alan G. Sutherland a Mechanic for First Student in Pine Bush and
a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on Thursday May 9,
2013 at The Kaplan Family Hospice Center in Newburgh. He was
64. The son of Ruth Boyce Sutherland and the late Edwin
Sutherland, he was born on October 6, 1948 in Goshen, NY. Along
with his mother, Ruth Sutherland of Walden, survivors include his
wife Linda at home, son; Timothy Sutherland of Cambridge, MA
daughter, Stephanie Sutherland of Brooklyn, NY, brother; Donald
Sutherland of Charlotte, NC and Alan's faithful feline companion,
Snickers. Alan is predeceased by his father, Edwin
Sutherland. Visitation will be held on Sunday May 12, 2013
from 2-6pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525
Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush. Private burial will be in the New
Prospect Cemetery and at the convenience of the family. In
lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American
