Charles Alongi Obituary

Charles Alongi Charles Alongi, an environmental engineer for Chazen Companies in Poughkeepsie and six-year area resident, died Jan. 12, 2006 unexpectedly in an automobile accident. He was 45. The son of the late Vito Alongi and Giovanna Caruanna, he was born Nov. 29, 1960 in Newburgh. He was a member of St. Paul's RC Church. Survivors include his beloved wife Shari Sysol Alongi at home; his three loving sons, Austin, Adam and Alex also at home; his loving brothers, Anthony Alongi and wife Cindy of Montgomery, Lenny Alongi and wife Michelle of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc., 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 16 at St. Paul's RC Church, Bullville. Father Patrick McGuigan, O. Carm will officiate. Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Educational Trust Fund for the Alongi Children, Shari Alongi c/o William M.
