Whitman, a longtime area resident, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center, Campbell Hall, NY. She was 86. The daughter of Frank J. Thorry and Josephine Marra Thorry, she was born August 14, 1921 in New Jersey. She was the widow of Robert B. Whitman. Marie was a retired Telephone Operator for Highland Telephone Co., Monroe, NY. She was a member of Church of the Infant Saviour in Pine Bush and Pioneers of America. Survivors include her daughter, Georgia L. King and her husband, Butch of Pine Bush, NY; three grandsons: Russell R. Futrell and wife, Adrienne of Pine Bush, NY, Richard W. Futrell and wife, Susan L. of Pine Bush, NY, Robert J. Whitman and wife, Isabella of the state of Florida; one granddaughter, Sherry Giamichelle and husband, Mark of Accord, NY; daughter-in-law, Carol A. Whitman of Accord; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Robert B. Whitman; son, Robert B. Whitman, Jr.; one sister, Madeline Dumehew, and one brother, Albert Thorry. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, NY 12566. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 19, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Infant Saviour, Route 302, Pine Bush, NY, with Father Kevin Gallagher officiating. Burial will in the family plot at New Prospect Cemetery, Pine Bush, NY. Arrangements by the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc.
