Obituary of Jacob Ryan Brownsell

Jacob Ryan "Jake" Brownsell, a lifetime resident of the area, died Monday, June 12, 2006 in Pine Bush, N.Y. He was 27. The son of Bruce Roland Brownsell, Sr. and Laura Michelle McElroy, he was born October 23, 1978 in Johnson City, N.Y. Jake was a resident of Pine Bush, and for a short while in Hurleyville. He was a carpenter by trade. A family statement reads: "He always showed love and touched every heart. Jake was the sunshine on rainy days. Rest in peace, Traveler." He is survived by his mother, Laura, of Sydney, N.Y.; father, Bruce of Hurleyville, N.Y.; three brothers: Bruce Brownsell, Jr., Nick Palladino and Travis Palladino, all of Sidney, N.Y.; one son, Dakota Brownsell and one daughter, Saige Brownsell, both of Burlingham, N.Y.; his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Faye McElroy of Sidney, N.Y.; and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2006 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc., 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, N.Y. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Hewitt officiating. Inurnment will be in New Prospect Cemetery, Pine Bush, N.Y. at a later date.
