Grace V. Zobel Pine Bush, NY Grace V. Zobel owner of the Town and Country Sporting Goods Store in Pine Bush and a longtime resident of the area, passed away at the Honey Hill Care Center in Connecticut on Saturday October 11, 2008. She was 84. The daughter of the late Edward Charles Kunath and Flora Louise Flick Kunath, she was born on June 6, 1924 in Staten Island, NY. Grace was married on October 12, 1946 to Bill Zobel. A family statement reads” Mom started her career as a welder in the shipyards on Staten Island during WWII and was a drum majorette and played saxophone in an all girl band. She was quite a gourmet cook and Gardner. After moving to Pine Bush, she was known for her homemade apple pies that were served in the local delicatessen. She shared her classic Dahlias that can now be seen blooming up and down the East Coast.” Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Bill at home, her 2 loving daughters, Anita Zobel of Connecticut and Nadine Kush of Massachusetts. She is also survived by her loving granddaughter, Liane Kush also of Massachusetts, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 15, 2008 from 6-8pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd, Pine Bush, NY. Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 16, 2008 at 11:00am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Robert B. Hewitt officiating.
