Obituary of Jose R. Calaca

Jose R. Calaca Town of Crawford Jose R. Calaca, a retired Carpenter for Local 964 out of Rockland County and longtime resident of the area passed away on Saturday July 18, 2015 at his home. He was 86. The son of Francisco Rodrigues Calaca and Isabel Pita Calaca he was born on May 19, 1929 in Madeira Portugal. Jose was a member St. Paul's RC Church, The United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Joiners of America AFL-CIO, and Local 964, as well as an avid outdoors man who enjoyed, hunting, fishing, and gardening. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Olivia DeAbreu Calaca at home, children; Joann Calaca of York, PA John Calaca and his wife Janeen of Crawford, NY and Nina Ciabattoni and her husband Mario of Newburgh, NY. Grandchildren; Kayla, Kelsey, and Brooke MacKenzie, Blaire Calaca-Heim, Joseph and James Calaca, and Grace Ciabattoni. Visitation will be held on Monday July 20, 2015 from 4-7pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday July 21, 2015 at 10am at St. Paul's RC Church in Bullville. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory. Memorial Donations can be made in Jose's name to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties 800, Stony Brook Ct. Newburgh, NY 12550.
