Stewart A. Callahan, a retired Stationery Fireman with the Dept
of Sanitation in NYC and retired Maintenance Supervisor with
Cornwall Hospital, passed away on Thursday February 17, 2011 at
ORMC Horton Campus. He was 82. The son of the late
Harry Callahan and Sarah Stewart Callahan, he was born on January
22, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY. A Veteran, Stewart served his
county in the US Army during WWII. Survivors include his
daughter, Kim Decker and her husband John of Pine Bush, his
sisters; Frances and Margaret, brother; Stanley Eichler, 4
grandchildren; Stewart, John, Nicole, and Nicholas, 1 great
grandson; Anthony. Stewart is further survived by his
"adopted" grandson Raul, many nieces and nephews, and family
friend, Claudie Francois. He is predeceased by his wife
Helen, his son Robert Eichler, and brother Jack Callahan.
Visitation will take place on Sunday February 20, 2011 from 2-5pm
at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham RD, Pine
Bush, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Monday February 21, 2011
at 10:00am the funeral home with Fr. Kevin Gallagher
officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in New
Windsor, NY. Arrangements entrusted to the William M. Gagan Funeral
