Obituary of Louis J. Caramatti

Louis J. Caramatti Louis J. Caramatti of Walker Valley, N.Y. died May 9, 2007 in the company of his family. He was 78. Son of Egidio and Angelina Volpi Caramatti, he was born on November 8, 1928 in New York City. Mr. Caramatti was a United States Army Veteran of WWII, serving with the Corp of Engineers in Trieste, Italy. A graduate of St. John's University and the Arnold Mane Schwartz College of Pharmacy, he held a Masters degree in Hospital Pharmacy and worked for Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City, and the F.D.R. Veterans Hospital in Montrose, N.Y. A life member of American Legion, he belonged to the G. Paul Bettinger Post #1308 in Pine Bush. He held the positions of Adjutant and Commander for the Post for Orange County and for the Ninth District. He was also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Memorial Post #5492 in Pine Bush. A member of the Walker Valley Senior Citizens and the Pine Bush Senior Citizens. Survivors include his beloved wife, Madeline at home; a loving son, Mark and his wife, Kim of Newburgh; and a loving sister, Mary Lou Caramatti of Flushing, Queens. Visitation will be on Monday, May 14, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc., 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, N.Y. American Legion services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Monday evening at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Kevin Gallagher officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the G. Paul Bettinger Post #1308, American Legion, PO Box 651, Pine Bush, NY 12566 for a scholarship in Louis J. Caramatti's name for a Pine Bush High School senior. Arrangements were made by the William M.
