Carl L. D’Ambrosio, age 85, a resident of Pine Bush (formerly of Cold Spring, NY), passed away peacefully on September 28, 2015, at Park Manor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Middletown. Born in White Plains, NY on April 22, 1930, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Angelina (Favia) D’Ambrosio. Carl was a graduate of White Plains High School and Columbia University, was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, employed by AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company at their midtown Manhattan branch for 30 years, longtime member of the North Highlands Engine C. #1 and was a Councilman and assessor for the Town of Philipstown. In addition, he was also a member of the Town of Crawford Senior Citizens group. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years Gemma T. (Luciano) D’Ambrosio , his three daughters, Carla McLaud and her husband Peter of Pine Bush, Angela Cole and her husband Kenneth of Wappingers Falls, and JoAnn D’Ambrosio of Poughkeepsie; two granddaughters Julie Michella and her husband William of Maybrook and Sarah Cole of Wappingers Falls; one grandson Eric McLaud of Astoria; two sisters Christina Torchia and her husband Alfred of Ocala, FL and Chiarina “Claire “Torchia of Cold Spring; and one brother Anthony D’Ambrosio and his wife Judy of Charleston, SC. Carl is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 1, 2015 from 4-8pm at William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc, 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 2, 2015 at 10am at the Church of the Infant Saviour, 22 Holland Ave, Pine Bush, NY.
