Miriam Grace Ziegler (nee Webster), formerly of Leonia, NJ, passed away suddenly, on Thursday October 8th, 2015 at home, in Pine Bush, NY. Miriam was born February 15th, 1925 in Nyack, New York to her Canadian parents. Captain Jack and Florence Webster (nee Antle) of the Salvation Army. Due to her parents many pastoral appointments Miriam lived in many different locations such as, Paterson and Passaic, NJ, Madison, WI, Sault Ste. Marie, MI and finally graduating high school from East Liverpool, Ohio. Soon after graduating, she came to work at the National Head Quarters of the Salvation Army on 14th Street in New York City and worked for them for the next 46 years. Her passion for the Salvation Army never wained. Miriam was married to her husband of over 60 years, Edmond Ziegler, who predeceased her in 2009. They met at the Salvation Army Tremont Corp., where they attended church together, in the Bronx. They lived in Leonia, New Jersey from 1951 to 1987. Known to her loved ones as “Mim” she cherished raising her three children, Janet Ziegler Gordon, Warren Ziegler (Ziggy), and Ginny Ziegler Martin. Mim was a faithful member and pianist of the Engelwood baptist church, NJ and Grace Reformed baptist church in Pine Bush NY. Mim also enjoyed doing court transcription at home for the Bergen County Court House. Mim enjoyed her retirement years sharing time between her country home in Pine Bush, NY and her beloved cottage in Kildare-By-The-Sea, Prince Edward Island, Canada. In addition to her husband Edmond Ziegler, Mim was predeceased by her sister Ruth Lovejoy (nee Webster) of Denver, CO. Mim is survived by Esther VanLoon (nee Webster) of Wayne, NJ; her three children Janet Gordon (nee Ziegler) and her husband Pastor Paul, of Pine Bush, NY and Warren (Ziggy) Ziegler of Pine Bush, NY, Ginny Martin (nee Ziegler) of Pequannock, NJ; her grandchildren, Jennie Thompson of Walden, NY, Adam Gordon of Pine Bush, NY, Dutch and Jeb Ziegler of Tampa, FL., Larry Martin of Wanaque, NJ, Jussley Filcik and her husband Daniel of North Carolina, Joelle Tavernier and her husband Peter of Minnesota, Lucas and Heather Martin of Pequannock, NJ; great grandchildren, Kiersten Webster, Kylie and Meghan Thompson of Walden, NY, Allison Ziegler of Georgia, Scarlet Ziegler of Florida, Madison, Amber, and Skylar Tavernier of Minnesota, Abigail and Ruby Filcik of North Carolina. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham RD Pine Bush. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 14th, 2005 at 11:00am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Gordon officiating. Burial will take place in Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Grace Reformed Baptist Church of Pine Bush, NY. --
