Obituary of Jeffery W. Smith

Jeffery W. Smith Pine Bush, NY Jeff Smith, Loving husband of Leslie Smith, passed away unexpectedly on Monday December 28th, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh,NY. He was 54. The son of John Smith and Betty Hyzer Smith, he was born on September 10, 1961 in Maryland. Jeff served his country for 6 years in the United States Navy. He worked as an industrial Electrician at Chemprene for over 20 years and enjoyed reading, fishing, cooking, working on cars, listening to music and going to concerts. He especially liked working on his 1968 Mercury Cougar and being a part of the Tri County Car Club. Survivors include his wife Leslie Smith, parents, John and Betty Smith of New Windsor, sister Julie (Charlie) Bell,daughter Alexandria (Don) Honour, step children Chris (Katie) Watkins, Amanda Watkins, Kaitlyn Watkins. In- laws, Michael and Helen Walton, sister-in-law Sandra (Joe) Farbizio of Rochester; nieces, Jessica Bell, Samantha Bell, Stephanie Farbizio and Kaylee Farbizio; grandchildren Jacob Watkins, Nathan Honour, Nicholas Knapp, Emma Watkins, Johnathan Knapp, and Aubrey Knapp. Jeff is predeceased by his Aunt Dorothy Mae Hyzer Korchinsky, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation will be held on Friday January 1, 2016 from 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush, NY. Funeral services will be offered on Saturday January 2, 2016 at 1pm at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Newburgh.
