Obituary of Rebecca C. Meyer

Rebecca C. Meyer Montgomery, NY Rebecca Christine Meyer was born February 7, 1990 to Robert and Barbara Jones in Mt. Kisco, NY. Her family lived in Yorktown Heights until 1999 when they moved to Montgomery, NY, where she attended the Pine Bush School system. Ever the witty, gregarious leader, Becky was captain of the Field Hockey team, member of the National Honor Society and graduated with high honors in 2007. An accomplished equestrian, Becky began riding at age 11, participating in riding competitions as a member of the 4-H Club, winning many ribbons. She was an active member of the Equestrian team and the Rugby team at SUNY Geneseo. Becky joined the United States National Guard, where she served until she was honorably discharged after being diagnosed with cancer. Determined to live fully, while enduring surgeries and treatment protocols, Becky married Neil in March 2013 and gave birth to their daughter, Charlotte Amelia, that following December. Becky went on to earn her Nursing Degree from SUNY Orange, graduating with honors in 2015. She worked as RN supervisor at Elant Nursing Home. Becky is survived by her husband, Neil Paul Meyer, who was her rock as she was his, and her beautiful 2½ year old daughter, Charlotte Amelia, who lit up when her mother walked into a room. Becky is also survived by her parents, Robert and Barbara Jones, and sisters Elizabeth (Norm) Cottrill and Rachel Jones. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 19, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9pm, and Friday May 20, 2016 from 2-4pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY 12566. Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday May 21, 2016 at 9:30am at the Church of the Infant Saviour with Fr. Rodrigo officiating. Burial will take place in New Prospect Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or The Wounded Warriors Project.
