Gwendolyn Lee Tingle was born in New Jersey on March 19,1928 to Kenneth & Cora Carroll. She excelled in academics all throughout her educational years. Gwendolyn had avid interests in art as well as fashion and later graduated from Wattley High school in New York City NY. In the work force, Gwendolyn wore many hats. She was a USPS postal worker, a claims adjuster at Met life insurance & also as a rent collector in the apartment building where she resided, loved and built a family with Frank E. Tingle who later became her husband and father to her two sons, Clayton L. Tingle & Reginald E. Tingle. Gwendolyn had an undeniable love for music, cooking, fashion and art which she carried throughout her entire life & became a seamstress because of it. Gwendolyn would watch award shows on television and sketch and design her own version of the dresses that the stars wore. Many of her designs were worn by friends, family members, her granddaughter as well as herself. Gwendolyn later chose to be a homemaker, a mother & Grandmother to all. Gwendolyn loved the Lord but he loved her most! On the evening of Friday June 17th, 2016 after fighting all week, she was called home. Gwendolyn will truly be missed because she loved everyone and was loved by everyone who met her or knew her. She is predeceased in after life by her parents Cora Carroll (Seamstress) Kenneth Carroll (Housekeeping at St.Luke's Hospital) Her brother Robert Carroll (Lt.Marines) and Her Husband Frank E. Tingle (Military). Gwendolyn is survived by her sons Reginald E. Tingle & Clayton L. Tingle, 3 Grandchildren, Reginald E. Boyce, Nicole G. Tingle, and Terrence L. Newell, 1 daughter in law Vida Thomas, 2 Granddaughter in laws, Melissa Boyce and Alexis Newell, 9 Great Grandchildren Lamont, Amaya, Jordan, Roman, Mason, Justice, Synsyre, Marquise and Tyrelle. Her niece, Samanthia Carroll and a host of niece's, nephews, cousins and friends and Gwendolyn will be missed by all. Friends and family may gather in celebration on Thursday June 23, 2016 from 12-3pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY. Gwendolyn will be reunited with her beloved husband PFC Frank E.Tingle, on Friday June 24, 2016 at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York. Graveside services will being at noon.
