Obituary of Doris H. Bruyn

Doris Helen Bruyn “Grandma Dor” Pine Bush, NY On August 21, 2016, our beautiful Doris, at 81 years old passed away surrounded by her loving family at home in Pine Bush, NY. She was born on November 15, 1934 in Endicott, NY. Doris was married to Douglas R. Bruyn in 1953 in Maryland, and began a life in the Military with her husband and family in the Air force for twenty two years. They traveled all over the United States and also to the Philippines. Eventually, they settled back in Pine Bush, NY and she worked as a Bus and Taxi Driver for Orange county Limousines. She loved Driving! She had such a love of life and all the people that were around her! Doris always filled her days with lots of hugs, kisses, and smiles for her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved Hopewell Presbyterian church and the family she built there. Survivors include her brothers ; Norman, and Roy Seely along with her daughters and sons and their spouses; Susan Bruyn Pondi, Sarah Bruyn, James Bruyn, and his wife, Venus; Gregory Bruyn and his wife Kelly, her Brother In Law, Donald R. Bruyn, Raymond Bruyn, wife Deanne, Beth Seely and many Nieces and Nephews. Also, her loving friend, Lillian Corkey. all her Grandchildren; David R. Pondi, Melisssa Jennings, her husband Justin, Michael Pondi, Neil Clark, James V. Bruyn, Brittnie Bruyn and William Ayres, Angie Bruyn,and Kyle Bruyn. She is also survived by her Great-Grandchildren; Adriana, Gabby, James T., and Mikayla. Doris was predeceased by her parents Howard E. and Irene Seely, Husband Douglas R. Bruyn, son George S. Bruyn, Brother Leo Seely and Son-in-Law David P. Pondi. A Memorial Service will be held at Hopewell Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 27th 2016, at 11:00am with a luncheon repast following service at approximately 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Hopewell Presbyterian Church, PO Box 15, Thompson Ridge, NY 10985.
