Obituary of Michael D. Schubkegel

Michael D. Schubkegel Pine Bush, NY Michael D. Schubkegel a retired accountant for the NYC Stock Market Exchange and longtime resident of the area, passed away on Sunday December 25, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 81. The son of the late Peter Schubkegel and Katarina Frolick Schubkegel he was born on November 9, 1935 in Bronx, New York. Michael a U.S. Veteran served his country in the U.S Army. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Evelyn at home, 3 children; Brenda Otto and her husband Al of Pine Bush, Donna Mowers and her husband Michael of McKinney, Texas and Keith Schubkegel and his wife Margaret of Butler, NJ, four grandchildren; Nicholas, Lindsay, Kathleen and Drew. His sister, Susan Duke of Bronxville. Michael is further survived by several nieces and nephews. "Mickey" as he liked to be called took pride in his family and friends. In his kindness he was always willing to help and ready to feed anyone in sight. He loved taking long trips with family and friends. His biggest pride was being called "Poppy" by his grandchildren and he did everything he could to make them all smile. He was a big New York sports fans of the Giants, the Yankees and the Rangers. Mickey loved life and love having his family nearby. Visitation will be held on Thursday December 29, 2016 from 2-4 &7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush NY. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 30, 2016 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Ginny Esposito officiating. Burial will take place in New Prospect Cemetery.
