Obituary of Ruth M. Grossi

Ruth M. Grossi Pine Bush, NY Ruth M. Grossi of Pine Bush passed away on Wednesday January 4, 2017 in Montgomery, NY . She was 93. She was born on June 1, 1923 to Joseph and Lillian (Jarvis) Shay. She married Francis P. Grossi on January 12, 1941 and was later blessed with 2 loving children. Ruth loved and enjoyed her family. Getting together for the holidays was extra special to her. The family lived in Montgomery where she worked a the Alpact factory until they moved to Pine Bush in 1961. She then worked at Mastercraft Cravet (Tie Factory) for over 20 years. She loved to bowl with her husband at orange Bowl and had a family team called “Franks Tigers”. They never took first place but had a lot of fun. She loved to read right up to her final days. Ruth was a member of the Pine Bush chapter VFWLA #5492. Survivors include her beloved son Joseph Grossi and his wife Lois of Pine Bush, loving daughter Ruth Miller and her husband Jerry also of Pine Bush. Five grandchildren: Judy Grossi - Yannantuono Parsells and her husband Jeff of Pine Bush, Joseph Grossi and his wife Kira of Montgomery, Gerald Miller and his wife Sandra of Somers, Scott Miller and his wife Maiza of NY, NY, Jeffery Miller and his wife Samantha of Somers. Four great grandchildren: Bryan Yannantuono of Silver Springs, MD, Sebastian Miller of Somers, Crystal and John Parsells of Pine Bush and another great grandchild is due in May. Ruth is further survived by many nieces and nephews and is predeceased by her husband Francis (2004), her siblings; Clarence and Donald Shay and Dorothy (Shay) Knauer. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 5-8pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush, NY 12566. Funeral Services will be offered Saturday January 7, 2017 at 10am at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert B. Hewitt Officiating. Burial will take place in New Prospect Cemetery.
