Patricia A. Browne, a retired Town Clerk for the Town of Crawford, longtime resident of the area, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday July 8, 2017. She was 86. The daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Walter Fay, she was born on October 29, 1930 in Queens, NY. One of the greatest joys of her life was when her great grandchildren visited. Grandma would always venture out to make sure there were plenty of toys and treats for them. Pat had a fierce love for her family, this is evident by all the pictures she has collected and proudly displayed on her walls. Pat was elected Town Clerk in 1962 and served in that position for many years. Later in life, Pat and her husband George, owned the Hoot Owl, this must be where she acquired her amazing sense of humor.  She also enjoyed her standing date on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings with her daughter, Ellen, and son-in –law, Richie, they would have dinner then compete in card games. When they had enough winnings saved they would head off to the casino. Pat enjoyed life to the fullest, right to the end. Survivors include her loving children; Amy Chessari of St. Petersburg, FL, John Chessari and fiancé Tracy Griffin of Pine Bush, Anthony Chessari and wife Mary of Barryville, Michael Chessari of Pine Bush, Ellen Vandemark and her husband Richard of Pine Bush and Joseph Chessari of Kingston. Patricia is further survived by her 8 grandchildren; Jennifer, Paul, Elissa, Kristen, Anthony, Nicole, Michelle and Jennifer and 7 great grandchildren; Anthony, Gianni, Grace, Angelina, Josephine, Niko and Victoria and niece, Joann Brosnan. She is predeceased by her sisters, Carol and Joan, her husband George Browne, daughter in law, Joann Chessari and grandson, Richard “Buddy” Vandemark. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 12, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY. Funeral services will be offered at 8:30pm at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Newburgh.
