George H. Larsen a Retired Foreman for the Orange County Highway Department and life long resident of the area passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday September 19, 2017 at 90 years of age. The son of the late Leonard Larsen and Nellie Vanburgh Larsen he was born on January 10, 1927 in Montgomery, NY. George enjoyed the simple quiet life: keeping busy by raising mums and later repairing used bikes. Forever in our hearts he will be greatly missed. George is survived by his children; Star Gillen and her partner Bob of PA, Sharon Zanelli of Wurtsboro, George Larsen Jr. and his wife Ruth of Bullville, and Lorraine Crowe and her husband Tom of Pine Bush, 2 brothers: Douglas and his wife Jean of Burlingham, Daniel and his wife Gretchen of Wallkill, 2 sisters: Betty Hamilton and her husband George of Kerhonkson , and Joan Youngs of Pine Bush, 8 grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. George is predeceased by his wife Jacqueline Slater Larsen, his daughter, Jo-Ann Moore, and 2 brothers, James and Richard Larsen. Visitation will be held on Thursday September 21, 2017 from  2-4 & 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush NY 12566. Services will be conducted on Friday September 22, 2017 at 11am at  the funeral home officiated by Pastor Bert Lloyd from the Bread of Life Church in Bullville. Burial will take place in Bullville Cemetery. Donations can be made in George’ name to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh NY 12550.
