Arlene Patricia (Pat) Mecking
April 3, 1935 – October 15, 2018

Arlene Patricia (Pat) Mecking, (83), of Volusia County, FL, passed away on October 15, 2018 in Deland, FL, after a long struggle with dementia.  Pat was born in the Bronx, NY to George and Edna Trabold on April 3, 1935.  She graduated from Evander Childs High School and worked as a personal secretary at two publishing companies including LOOK Magazine  in Manhattan, NY. On May 18, 1958, Pat married Charles (Charlie) Richard Mecking in Throggs Neck, NY.  1n 1966, they built their family home on Hennig Lane, Pine Bush, where they raised their family with many happy memories for the next 30 years. Later Mrs. Mecking worked for Pine Bush School District as a library assistant. She also spent over 20 years working at Taylor Tree Service of Walden, NY. She was involved for many years with the Pine Bush Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was a Boy Scout den mother.  Mrs. Mecking was also a member, Sunday school teacher and Treasurer at Graham’s Presbyterian Church, Pine Bush. In 1994, Pat and Charlie retired to Wildwood, FL. Pat is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles R. Mecking, of Deland FL; daughter and husband, Karen and Jeffrey Wixson of Deltona, FL; her son and wife, Kenneth and Michele Mecking of Middletown, NY; and daughter Christine Bedell, of Deland FL; her loving little sister, Nancy Perry; and brother in law, William (Bill) Hennig, of Pine Bush; and six grandchildren and one great-grandson; and several neices and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her beloved sister in law, Virginia M. Hennig (Ginny), of Pine Bush, NY.   Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 21st, 2018, from 2 pm to 5 pm at William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush NY.  Funeral services will be offered at 11 am, on Monday, October 22nd, 2018 at  Funeral Home with Pastor  Russell S.
