Obituary of Anna B. Tangredi

Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The last in our family of the "Greatest Generation", yesterday Anna B. Tangredi danced off to join her loved ones in Heaven.  She was 91.
Anna was born in the Bronx and lived in Mamaroneck, NY for most of her long life. She attended NYC PS 34, graduating from Jane Addams Vocational High School in June 1946.

A proud member of the Independent Ladies Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU), she worked in the garment district in NYC creating dress samples for many well-known designers.

Anna loved to travel, visiting Guadalupe, Mexico, St. Thomas, Bermuda, Nassau, West Indies, Portugal, Spain, Geece, Italy, France, Puerto Rico, Ireland, Rotterdam, Scotland, Norway, Denmark, Malta, Egypt, China, Japan, Gaspe (Canada), Nova Scotia, Jugoslavia, Ontario (Canada), Grand Caymen, Costa Rica, Chile, Argentina, Canary Islands, and many places across the USA.

Ballroom dancing was Anna's favorite hobby. Together with long time dance partner Eddie Lederkramer, she danced at many of the famous halls in New York City and beyond.

Although Anna never married and had children of her own, she was a loving Aunt to her sister's children and retired from her job to care for her mother.

She will be remembered for her sharp wit. "Anna from the Bronx" had a comeback for everything, and we will miss her.

The family will have a private graveside service. Donations to the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence (Hospice of Orange/Sullivan Counties) are appreciated.
