Pine Bush, NY
Anthony Chessari, 97, of Pine Bush, NY passed away on
Tuesday March 12, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. The son of
the late Emanuella Cappello Chessari and John Chessari, he was born
in Brooklyn, NY on January 12, 1916. Anthony was
married to Pauline Chessari in 1951.
Anthony worked as a farmer and was a partner in Chessari
Brother's in Pine Bush for 41 years, retiring in 1981. He
had a great passion for growing plants and flowers. Uncle Tony, as
everyone around town knew him, loved to share his plants and
flowers, he would give them away to anyone who stopped by the farm
to visit him. He was a member of the U.S.T.A and had Standard
bred racehorses that he owned with his sister and brothers.
His favorite horses were, A. Filly H., Bold Star and Clint.
Anthony is survived by his sister-in-law, Madlyn Chessari,
nieces and nephews, Joann Brosnan, John Chessari and Ellen
Vandermark all of Pine Bush; Anthony Chessari of Barryville,
Michael Chessari of Paoli, Kansas, Joseph Chessari of
Kingston and Amy Shaver of Florida and also, many
great-nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dogs, Saddie and
Colby. Anthony is preceded in death by his wife,
Pauline Chessari, his sister, Theresa Chessari and brothers,
Charles Chessari, Salvatore Chessari, Joseph Chessari and John
Chessari, Jr.
A special thank you to ToniLyn and Lexi Brosnan and Carrie
Averill for taking such good care of Uncle Tony, your love and
kindness will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 2-4pm and
7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham
Road, Pine Bush, NY. Funeral services will be held
at the funeral home on Saturday March 16, 2013 at 10 am with
Fr. Kevin Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow
at St. Mary's Cemetery in Montgomery, NY
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given in Anthony's
name to the Walden Humane Society, 2489 Albany Post Rd,
Walden, N.Y., 12586.
