In the sad, stressful, & challenging world of a Correctional Institution, Marty could always bring a smile to your face.
I talked to Marty for quite a while about a year ago, & he still possessed that trait. He was always a pleasure to be around.

My sincere condolences for your loss. There are no words that anyone can say at this time to heal your pain.
Take comfort in knowing that Marty was a good man, respected by his friends, peers, and supervisors. I don't think that there was ever a time when I was with him, that we didn't laugh together. Marty will be missed by everyone that new him.
I'm not far away, so don't hesitate to ask us if there is anything that we can do for any of you.

My deepest condolences to the Tremper family. Marty was a truly great guy. I enjoyed learning as much as I could from him at the facility. He took his time to teach us new jacks how the job goes and always made sure we were as safe as possible. Rest In Peace, brother.

On ocasión my wife Fran and I would run into Marty in the local grocery store, HE always had a great big smile on his face and we would talk for a few minutes and he always had a joke or a story to tell. Upon checking out one day we noticed a jar of pickles and bag of candy we didn't recall picking up, we just laughed knowing Marty helped with the shopping. This became a tradition over the years, Marty had a heart of gold and anyone who was lucky enough to have known him was truly blessed, thanks for all the laughs my friend, may you rest in peace

I met Marty in 1979. I was a junior and he was a senior. I remember him to be a kind person who was interested in benefitting his peers and being kind to everyone. Haven’t seen him since 1980 and am so sad to hear about his passing. May he travel in the light. R.I.P. old friend.

Marty will be sadly missed by all the people he worked with as well as his family members. A sad loss indeed. Gene and Debbie Niles

I am a retired RN from Wallkill Correctional, and worked with Marty for quite a few years. Marty was an officer who showed respect and concern, whenever dealing with the Medical Staff. He made us feel safe, he was extremely helpful, and he made us laugh. He was a true asset to the facility, and I am sure he will be missed by many, if not all of his family at Wallkill. My deepest condolences to all those who loved him. RIP
