George W. Hylick
Walker Valley, NY

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George William Hylick on February 14th, 2024; he was 65. He was the son of the late George and Catherine Hylick, George was originally from the Bronx but he grew up in Bullville and took great pride in being a ‘Bullvillian’. A hard worker, at 16, he started at a milking job on a dairy farm before going to high school. He graduated from Pine Bush High School and, after graduating, worked for Stonehenge Farm Market in Bullville, eventually becoming a manager; he worked at Stonehenge for much of his career.   He met and married the love of his life, Marie Forstner, and gained a stepdaughter, Andrea, who he raised as his own. He and Marie loved to have his friends, many from childhood and family over to swim in his beloved pool, play darts, dice, horseshoes and blow off the occasional block buster.  George was predeceased by his wife Marie Fostner and nephew Matthew Ortiz. George is survived by his loving sister, Helene, niece Madison, cousin Frank Slazer, grandnephew Logan and step daughter, Andrea. He is also survived by three step grandchildren, Giavanna, Gabriella and Greysen and his beloved dog, Goliath, as well as many friends and extended family. George loved Walker Valley and the outdoors, hiking, fishing, canoeing and bluegrass music; he will be deeply missed.Services will be announced the spring at a later date.
