Alfred Gary Garrido was born on November 1, 1944 in the Bronx, son of the late Alfred and America Garrido. After a courageous battle with cancer Al passed away peacefully on July 8, 2011 at Montgomery Nursing Home with his son and daughter by his side. Al was born in the Bronx and attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine Elementary School. At the age of 12 he moved with his family to Pomona. Al graduated from Clarkstown High School in 1964 and attended Rockland Community College. He moved in 1973 to Middletown, NY where he resided for 38 years. Al was an electrician and part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He is survived by his two devoted children Jeremiah and Elizabeth, their loving spouses Jennifer and Daniel, his sister Cindy, and treasured grandaughter Cameron. Al touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
