John A. Geidel Pine Bush, NY John A. Geidel, a retired Pipe Fitter for General Motors in Tarrytown, NY and longtime resident of the area, passed away at his home on Friday May 16, 2014. He was 84. The son of the late Anthony Geidel and Teresa Burke Geidel, he was born on October 30, 1929 in Bronx, NY. A Veteran, John served his country from 1951-1953 in the United States Army. John was a parishioner of St. Paul's Church in Bullville and a member of the United Auto Workers Union. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, MaryJean at home, his children; Jeanann Schechter and her husband Isadore of Windsor, NY; John M. Geidel and his wife Donna of Middletown, NY Joseph Geidel and his wife Roxann of New Hampton, NY 4 grandchildren; Christine Cullen and her husband Sheldon of Vermont, Matthew Schechter of Windsor, NY, Joseph Geidel of New Hampton, NY and Kaylee Geidel of Middletown, NY, sister in law; Ruth Geidel of Bronx, NY, and many nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his brother, Anthony Geidel. Visitation will be held on Sunday May 18, 2014 from 3-6pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush, NY. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday May 19, 2014 at 10am at St. Paul's RC Church in Bullville with Fr. Sean Harlow O.Carm officiating. Burial will take place in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY with Full Military Honors. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Ct.
