Ib Mortensen Fort Lauderdale, Florida Formerly of Pine Bush Ib Mortensen, a Rigger Longshoreman and former resident of Pine Bush, NY passed away on April 18th 2012 at The Fort Lauderdale Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was 88. The son of the late Jens & Louise Mortensen, he was born July 6th 1923 in the Faroe Islands, Denmark. A Veteran, Ib served his county as a Merchant Marine. Survivors include one son, Michael Mortensen and wife Magi of Smithtown, L.I.; one daughter, Kathleen Lipthay and husband Stephen of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; three grandchildren, Ryan, Michael and Erika; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife of 55 years Mildred Mortensen. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc., 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 24th, 10 a.m. at the Bread of Life Assembly of God Church, 2876 State Route 17K Bullville, NY 10915 with the Rev. Bert Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery, Pine Bush. Arrangements are by the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc. For information or directions, please visit www.wmgaganfuneralhome.com.
