Montgomery, NY
Elfriede Braun a retired Technician for IBM and longtime
resident of the area, passed away on Friday February 22, 2013 at
Montgomery Nursing Home. She was 82. The daughter of the late
Frederick Braun and Marie Steinmann Braun, she was born on April
26, 1930 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Elfriede was a member of the
1st Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie and the Sewing
group. Survivors include her nieces, Tina Karinchak and her
husband Jim of Pine Bush, and Elvira Marone of Poughkeepsie,
nephew; Resul Kurtbedin Jr. and his wife Beth of Tucson, AZ, sister
Esther Kurtbedin of Poughkeepsie, Hilde Beck, Eleonore Schmidt of
Germany, brothers; Siegfried Braun of Switzerland, several nieces
and nephews and great nieces and nephews in Germany and
Switzerland. Services were private and at the convenience of
the family. Arrangements entrusted the William M. Gagan Funeral
