Obituary of Santa Vientos

Santa Vientos Middletown, NY Santa Vientos, a Seamstress in the Garment District in NYC passed away on Monday October 14, 2013 at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center in Middletown. She was 96. The daughter of the late Gregorio Vega and Isabell Velez Vega, she was born on May 4, 1917 in Puerto Rico. A Family statement reads "She was a beautiful woman who was always looking at the positive side of things. She was a devoted catholic and a very spiritual woman. She was a seamstress in the Garment District then an owner of a small grocery store in NYC who often gave groceries to those who could not afford. She was a role model to many. Survivors include her daughters; Milagro Velazquez of Middletown, Carmen Gloria Santo of Pine Bush, sons; Raphel Valazquez and his wife Noris of NYC, and Juan Velazquez and his wife Evelyn also of NYC, brother; Santo Vega of Miami, 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Santa is predeceased by her daughter, Lucy Velazquez, her husband Juan Vientos, 5 sisters, and 4 brothers. Friends and family may gather on Sunday October 27, 2013 from 2-4pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc.1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY. Services will be conducted at 3:30pm at the funeral home with Fr. Kevin Gallagher officiating.
