Fred T. Whitaker Wallkill, NY Fred T. Whitaker, a lifelong resident of the area and a retired Director of Rehabilitation for the Middletown Psychiatric Center passed away on Monday April 15, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 66. The son of Augusta Wooley Whitaker and the late Alfred Whitaker, he was born on October 17, 1946 in Middletown, NY. Fred was a Middletown High School Graduate Class of 1964; he received his Degree from the University of Richmond and further received his Masters at SUNY New Paltz. He worked at the Otisville Training School and provided 30 years of service with New York State until his retirement from the Psych Center in 2001. Survivors include his beloved Margaret; sons: Dennis Annastas of Brooklyn, Richard Annastas and his wife Leah of Albany, and Casey Whitaker of Denver, CO; grandchildren: Sophia, Abigail, Simon and Charles Annastas; brother in law, James Boyd of Wallkill; 2 nephews: James A. Boyd of Pine Bush, and Daniel W. Boyd and his wife Christina of Pine Bush. He is predeceased by his sister, Susan Boyd. Visitation will be offered on Friday April 19, 2013 from 4-8pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush. Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.
