Bernadette A. Byrne Pine Bush, NY Bernadette A. Byrne, a longtime resident of the area passed away on Saturday October 8, 2011 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 71. The daughter of the late Edward Birmingham and Helen Russell Birmingham, she was born on October 28, 1939 in Queens, NY. Bernadette was retired from the William A. Smith Insurance Co. in Newburgh, member of the Church of the Infant Saviour, and of the Marian Prayer Group. Survivors include her children; Helen Wilhelm and her husband Scott of Napanoch, Maureen Harris and her husband Danny of Staten Island, Edward Byrne and his wife Sherry of Pine Bush, Veronica Trommer and her husband Thomas of Ohio, Laura Beck and her husband Michael of Pine Bush, and Elizabeth Byrne also of Pine Bush. She is further survived by 4 grandchildren; Sarah, Ethan, Joshua, and Emily, and many nieces and nephews. Bernadette is predeceased by her sisters, Frances Birmingham O.P and Mary Ann Birmingham. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 11, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday October 12, 2011 at 10am at the Church of the Infant Saviour with Fr. Kevin Gallagher officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery in Queens, NY. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Susan G.
