Obituary of Gilbert B. McCord

Gilbert B. McCord Pine Bush, NY Gilbert B. McCord a lifelong resident of Pine Bush, NY passed away on July 24, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 94. The son of the late Gilbert Elias and Abbie Burkinshaw McCord, he was born on December 27, 1921 in Pine Bush, NY. Gilbert served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a self-employed mechanic at Stratford Automotive, was past commander and treasurer for the American Legion, member of the Historical Society of Shawangunk and Gardiner as well as a member of the New Prospect Cemetery Board. Gilbert was an avid gardener. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Surviving children, Sonja McCord Killie of Virginia, Gilbert K.McCord and wife Marjorie of Pine Bush, Lora L. McCord of Circleville; sons, Daniel R. McCord of Pine Bush; six grandchildren; Justin, Jonathan, A.J., Stephanie, Nicole, and Alex, several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Gilbert is predeceased by his loving wife Patricia McCord and three sisters. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, July 28th at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush NY. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home on Friday July 29, 2016.
