Bridget Feeley (O’Shaughnessy), known as Bridie to all, was born in Gort, County Galway, Ireland.  She emigrated to NYC as a young woman where she worked as a nanny to actor Don Ameche’s family. She met Michael C. Feeley, a fellow immigrant, from County Sligo, marrying him in 1952. They raised six children in the Bronx and Yonkers, before Michael’s death in 1974. Widowed with young children, Bridget went to work as a nurse’s aide at Yonkers General Hospital. Retiring in 2000, Bridget moved to Pine Bush, New York, to be closer to her family, where she hosted many family gatherings featuring her home cooking. Bridget had a strong devotion to her Catholic faith and a love of family over her long life. Bridget is survived by her children, sons James, Michael and Owen Feeley, and daughters Marie Potritski, Catherine Walsh and Barbara Feeley. She will also be missed by her surviving siblings, sisters Katherine Halligan of New York, Margaret O’Shaughnessy of Gort, Ireland and brother Gerard O’Shaughnessy also of Gort, Ireland.  Bridget is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Bridget is predeceased by her husband Michael, brothers Martin (Frank), Michael and Patrick O’Shaughnessy, and sisters Molly Flynn and Ann Moore. Funeral Mass for Bridget will offered on Saturday January 27, 2024 at 11:00am  at the Church of the Infant Savior, 22 Holland Avenue, Pine Bush, NY 12566. Cremation will be private. Arrangements entrusted to the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc.
