My Aunt Nellie insisted that I learn to ride a horse, being from Queens I've never seen a real horse. I was 12 at the time. She was friends with Ms.Juckas and we spent the weekend. I remember the horse that was brought out his name was celebration big beautiful white horse. It took me no time to learn commands, how to mount and dismount and my new found love for horses. Thank you.

Dear Family of Karen Jukas:
My sisters Teresa, Jen and I (formerly last name of Monaco) Extend our condolences to you on the loss of Karen. She was Teresa's teacher in Pine Bush school . We all loved to take yearly horseback rides at the stables and we introduced my nieces and nephews to horseback riding there. We always looked forward to this summer tradition! We appreciated the way in which Karen made certain that we were all safely equipped and that our little kids were guided appropriately! She was a wonderful person and she will be missed! May she rest in peace.

By chance, I heard of Ms. Juckas passing, She taught me 6th grade reading. One day when all the 6th grade classes were watching a film, a special needs student had a difficult time. Everyone started to laugh etc, Ms. Juckas ended the movie, dismissed the student and gave us a life lesson on respect for our fellow human beings. Ms. Juckas taught me to respect everyone. I make it a point to always volunteer at the children's hospital because of the outstanding Pine Bush teacher's I was blessed to have and the life lesson's they taught me! Respectfully, a former student from 35 years ago.
